As the score ends, I am already thinking of specific moments in my life when I would like to hear it again
Hania is a Polish drama film which I haven’t seen. From the description of the movie, I’m expecting something dark and depressing. Unfortunately, Jan A.P. Kaczmarek’s score for this one doesn’t really get any ...
“The Visitor” was an interesting listen because it managed to tell me exactly what the character and movie are about. This is the brilliance of it, and it’s another of the unforgettable Jan Kaczmarek gems….
As sometimes silence is more powerful than words, so here this theme is more powerful than many more complex ones.
If you ever need a lovely piano intermezzo, this score is right for it. It sounds like a piano improvisation on a wonderful summer evening among friends.
“Unfaithful” hits the bull’s eye in every aspect: as a standalone listen, as a musical composition and as a companion for the movie
The only parts I really love are the ones with vocalize. They get to me and I will listen to them again
Bolero seems to be the main theme of this score, and “Red” really comes together in the second half.
“White” is my favorite score from the trilogy
I found the score to be a little uneven.
What this score truly has going for it is the mood
I will do is listen again to gems like “Impossible opening”, “Forgotten overture” or “This is Neverland”…
“La double vie de Veronika” marks another collaboration between Zbigniew Preisner and his favorite director, Krzysztof Kieślowski. The film explores the themes of identity, love and human intuition through the characters of Weronika, a ...
Fans of strings will certainly appreciate this one. It make me think of The Kronos Quartet on Clint Mansell’s “The fountain”. “Total eclipse” ends up as quite an entertaining listen.
“The beautiful country” is like the shy child of few words who has a very interesting story to tell once you take the time to get to know him. It is a minimalist, gentle and ...
the end brings a well-developed piano main theme in which I recognize bits that had touched me before, and makes the score completely worth listening to
The music is, as usual, beautiful in many parts, but the scares lack completely.
The score is quite a gem. Since the movie is so over the top, mixing horror, drama, eroticism and romance, the music had to deal with this blend and make it into an enjoyable listen.
The orchestration and sound of the score bears the sign of the times.
“War and peace” is a beautiful composition which will definitely enhance the reading experience of the novel.
