You don’t need to be a game music fan or even a gamer to enjoy “Anima: Gate of memories”; you only have to be a dreamer.
Darkness, tension and a bit of hope go hand in hand and create a chilling and addictive atmosphere.
“Blues and bullets” is a trip through the dark alleys of a misty neighborhood full of pleasures and dangers.
I think no cue title expresses my feelings for this score better than “A long walk stills our hearts”.
“Beyond: two souls” is the kind of score I will never forget.

Last year’s “Dragon Age: Inquisition” was one of the best games scores I heard. Trevor Morris came out swinging and hit me with powerful themes and epic pieces. Plarium is amongst Facebook’s most hardcore game developers. They create the games I keep seeing advertised on like “Sparta: War of empires” or “Stormfall: Age of war”. I am not a big gamer and anyway strategy games are not my thing, but they do provide great soundtracks. And when an iconic name like Jesper Kyd, […]
“Taken” is a horror video game which benefits from a score written by Dawn Worth. I am not a fan of club or rave music. I mean I could listen to it for a little while before it becomes too much. But every once in a while a score comes along that lures me into its world with that kind of sound and I get hooked. I am though a […]
“Supernova” sounds like an exciting computer game set in the distance, space-faring future. It’s in the real time strategy genre and the possibilities for the players and endless. Alright, alright, settle down, nostalgia butterflies… We are here to talk about the music for this new game “Broken age”, not to reminisce about what it means to me. But how could I not mention all this? Looking at the “about” page of this game I got such a rush of nostalgia that the flow […]

“Battlefield: hardline” is the newest installment in this very famous and critically acclaimed franchise. “Gravity ghost” is physics based puzzle game where the player controls the ghost of a little girl, Iona, who flies through a fantasized version of space with her friend, a ghost fox. „League of legends” is an online battle arena video game which apparently is very popular. It’s developed by Riot Games and inspired by a mod from „World of Warcraft”. “Assassin’s Creed Unity” is the seventh installment in the famous game series. I’ve already reviewed volumes 1 and 2 with mixed feelings. “Dead kings” is a downloadable content for this game and is set in Paris again, in the catacombs beneath Saint Denis from what I understand. Composer Cris Velasco wrote the score. I haven’t […]
As this score end, I smile satisfied and somewhere 28 or 29 years ago, the younger me, lost in a game later at night than he should have been up, is startled by a noise in his room.
Melodic, emotional and with killer choirs, both epic and tender, as its backbone, “Lords of the fallen” left me very satisfied and inspired
Fresh from the lackluster experience I had with volume 1, I dove into “Assassin’s Creed: Unity – volume 2”. This second part was written by Sarah Schachner, a composer I hadn’t heard about until now. The start is promising: “Rather death than slavery” is an enjoyable electronic based cue, with a female voice in […]
The action music is generic, but not as boring as to make me count the minutes until the score is over
This "World of Warcraft" score is one of the most exciting scores I've heard all year.
“Civilization” is the crown achievement of 2014. It’s a majestic composition and a score that 20 years from now will be regarded as one of the best ever.
In the end, “The crew” delivers exactly what I wanted and needed it to: an extremely cool and electrifying car racing score, with sharp rhythms and pulsating beats.
“Halo 2 anniversary” is different from most of the game scores out there and will end up as one of my favorites of the year.
Once in a while, not often enough, along comes a score that burrows inside me from the first cue, and once it’s there it just spreads a warmth that takes me over from inside. It finds its way through my spine, in my blood stream and when it gets to my skin it raises my […]
“Far cry 4” shines for me through its atmospheric cues
In a year filled with amazing game scores, Trevor Morris’s “Dragon Age – Inquisition” shines and will end up among the best of them
In a year dominated by epic and majestic game score releases, the Commandos collection is the stealth green beret who doesn’t make much noise, but is the most effective.
