Patrick Doyle’s score doesn’t take any chances. It’s the usual animated movie offering that guides the listener, preferably young, through the feelings induced by the movie.
“Snow in August” is a 7 minute long epilogue that earns its place among Doyle’s finest pieces. It’s a sweeping, romantic and rich cue that makes me dream and feel that life is beautiful.
“Great expectations” is the best score Patrick Doyle has ever written, and one of my favorites of all time. The emotion, the intensity and the nostalgia it brings to me are almost unparalleled
My problem with “Rise of the planet of the apes” is that it’s boring and it has no heart
